If you’re new here, or if you read my writings last season, my name is John Brubaker. I’ve been betting on MLB baseball games for four years, and this is my second MLB season working with OKBE. I’ve developed my own betting model to assist me in generating and identifying value on run lines, totals, and money lines. In this post, I’ll provide my greatest MLB betting choices for Sunday, October 23, 2022. I’m always striving to enhance my models’ accuracy, and as the season advances, I’ll post the data I have on my personal Twitter @LucidMediaDFS. If you haven’t already, please follow me and don’t be afraid to ask questions! My direct messages are always open. After that, let’s break out some baseball games.

Today’s MLB Picks: Phillies vs. Astros

  • HOU -166 | Over/Under: 6.5
  • Aaron Nola at PHI | Justin Verlander at HOU

On Sunday, we went 1-0-1, hitting the Phillies/Padres first-inning under while being pushed on the Astros F5 money line. It’s now World Series time, with the Phillies and Astros vying for the championship. In this contest, I’ll focus at the first-inning under, as I anticipate pitching to dominate game one.

OKBET MLB Predictions

Aaron Nola (11-13, 3.25 ERA) will take the mound for the visiting Phillies. The Astros haven’t lost a game since the Phillies defeated them in Minute Maid Park on October 3 to secure the sixth spot in the NL Playoffs on MLB Predictions. Aaron Nola was the Philadelphia pitcher on the mound that night. That night, Nola pitched 6.2 shutout innings against Houston and has been strong in the opening inning all season. He’s only given up a run in the opening inning in two of his 15 road starts and four of his 31 total.

The Astros of MLB Predictions, on the other hand, will start Justin Verlander (18-4, 1.75 ERA). Following Nola’s outstanding performance against the Astros on October 3, Justin Verlander threw five hitless innings against the Phillies in his last regular season start the next day at the MLB Predictions. It should be remembered that both teams had already secured their playoff positions at this stage, but it was still amazing. Verlander has also been outstanding in the first inning, allowing just one run in 26 starts overall and not allowing a first-inning run at home throughout the entire 2022 regular season.

OKBET Sportsbook has the first-inning under at -162, which is excellent value considering the stakes involved. Could a leadoff home run by Kyle Schwarber or Jose Altuve derail this? Sure. My model, on the other hand, gives the first inning a 62.92% probability of hitting, for “real” odds of -170. We’ll take the value we can get here and aim to remain hot throughout the World Series.
